Facebook Reels Controls Privacy Policy

Single Purpose

Facebook Reels Controls has a single purpose: to let users customize the controls, appearance, navigation, and playback behavior of Facebook Reels in their browser.

Information Handled

The extension reads visible Facebook Reels page content as needed to identify and customize Reel controls and behavior. Depending on the features you use, this may include visible control labels and counts, Reel and creator information, creator profile identifiers and names, captions or other visible Reel interface content, ad labels, outbound ad links, and information needed to identify the currently active Reel.

This information is processed in your browser so the extension can modify the Facebook Reels interface, respond to your settings and hotkeys, skip selected creators, detect and skip ads when enabled, and navigate between Reels. The extension does not upload Reel content, Facebook account content, or browsing activity to the developer.

The extension stores settings using Chrome storage. These settings may include control placement and visibility preferences, playback and navigation preferences, progress-bar settings, hotkey assignments, auto-scroll and ad-skip preferences, and a list of creators you have chosen to skip. A skipped-creator entry may contain the creator's Facebook profile identifier and visible name.

The extension also stores local usage counters for the number of ads and skipped creators automatically skipped, along with a small local catalog of Reel menu labels used to populate extension controls. Recent ad URLs used to prevent duplicate skip counting are kept temporarily in memory and are not persistently stored by the extension.

How Information Is Used

Facebook Reels page information is used only to provide the extension's Reel-control features. This includes moving or hiding Reel controls and statistics, showing or hiding creator and caption information, applying hotkeys, changing navigation behavior, controlling default sound and progress effects, advancing automatically, skipping ads when enabled, and skipping creators you have selected.

The extension accesses Facebook pages only for the purpose of providing these Facebook Reels customization features. It does not use Facebook page content for advertising, profiling, analytics, or sale to third parties.

Chrome Storage and Sync

Most extension preferences and the skipped-creator list are stored with Chrome's synchronized extension storage. If Chrome Sync is enabled in your browser, Chrome may synchronize this data between browsers where you are signed in according to Google's Chrome Sync functionality and privacy practices.

Skip counters and the locally discovered Reel menu-label catalog are stored only in Chrome's local extension storage on the browser profile where the extension is installed.

Data Sharing

Facebook Reels Controls does not sell, rent, transfer, or share Facebook Reel content, creator information, extension settings, or usage counters with the developer or third parties.

The extension does not contain analytics or telemetry services and does not send extension usage data to an external developer-controlled server.

Data Categories

The extension handles website content from Facebook only as needed to customize the Reels experience. It may locally store extension settings, hotkey assignments, skipped-creator profile identifiers and names, and aggregate skip counters.

The extension does not collect passwords, authentication credentials, private messages, precise location, health information, financial information, or a history of websites visited outside the Facebook pages where the extension runs.

Data Control

You control the extension settings and which creators are added to the skip list. Skipped creators can be removed from the extension settings, skip counters can be cleared, and extension preferences can be restored to their defaults.

Removing the extension will remove extension data stored by the extension from that browser profile. Data synchronized through Chrome Sync may also be subject to your Chrome and Google account sync settings.

Limited Use

User data handled by Facebook Reels Controls is used only for the extension's single purpose: customizing Facebook Reels controls, appearance, navigation, and playback behavior.

The extension does not use or transfer user data for purposes unrelated to this single purpose. It does not use user data for advertising, creditworthiness, lending, or other unrelated profiling purposes.
